RESTAURANT IN NOTO

Cosy atmosphere and friendly hospitality




In our comfortable, candle-lit  dining room, under a traditional plaster and cane roof, our guests can enjoy discreet and friendly service, always attentive to individual requirements and special requests. In summer you can have breakfast outside on the terrace among the scents and colours of the countryside and in the evening you can dine in the cool of the olive trees immersed in the profound peace of the Iblea nights.

THE CUISINE

We offer a wide and carefully chosen selection of traditional dishes combining flavour and lightness made with locally sourced products like PDO Sicilian cheeses, Val di Noto olive oil, fresh fish from our seas, cured meats and fresh meat from local farms.

We offer our guests a wide variety of choices and our menu has a rich selection of starters, pasta courses and main courses of fish, meat or simply vegetables which vary according to the season.

A special touch is given to the desserts  which play an important part in Sicilian cuisine.  Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, lemons, oranges, fresh ricotta, honey with wild thyme are all used in the preparation of our ice creams, jams and semifreddo desserts.

On request, we can cater for guests who have specific dietary requirements, particularly food intolerances.

In particular, special attention is given to the preparation of our bread using traditional stone-ground Sicilian wheat  which guests are served every day.  Masseria degli Ulivi works with the “Maìdda  ” artisan workshop in Noto which is specialized in the making of bread and oven baked products made exclusively with flour and fresh products from small local businesses.

ORGANIC VEGETABLE GARDEN

Masseria degli Ulivi uses vegetables from our own organic garden where vegetables are grown and picked every day  and are used innovatively in the preparation of our dishes.

 




The Wine Cellar

Our wine cellar offers a vast selection of carefully chosen wines from the island in particular Val di Noto, more precisely the area including the provinces of Siracusa, Ragusa and Catania whose local production focuses on Nero d’Avola, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Etna red and white, Insolia and Grillo .

In the hot Sicilian sun where the soil possesses unique characteristics, even grapes traditionally cultivated in other areas take on unique flavours and aromas.

To complete the list, sweet wines and meditation wines like the amber coloured Moscato di Noto, the “passitto” wines, the late harvest wines as well as the dry sparkling “spumante” wines - new promising frontier in  modern Sicilian winemaking.
